How my flutes are made
I make my flutes on various machine tools, predominantly the lathe. The machines allow working to a high degree of accuracy – especially important when making the many tools needed for flute making.
A lot of the work, especially the tuning & voicing of the flute, and final shaping of the embouchure, is done slowly and carefully by hand.
